Providing the latest in integrated module solutions and products, Z3 Technology today announced the immediate availability of the Z3-DM8168-VI-RPS (Rapid Product Design System), a Video Infrastructure solution that works in applications such as broadcast video encoding and decoding, real-time transcoding at 1080p60, security and surveillance, video conferencing and industrial video processing. For more information, visit www.z3technology.com.
The Z3-DM8168-VI-RPS system consists of both hardware and software. The hardware provided includes one Z3-DM8168-MOD-24 system on module card and a video infrastructure application board, the Z3-DM8168-APP-32, which provides advanced video input capabilities. The bundled software includes all necessary components for the user to develop their own advanced multimedia, graphics and DSP applications. The software provided includes pre-loaded encoder and decoder Z3 applications, Linux, EZSDK and OpenMAX-IL framework.
Measuring 88mm x 108mm, the Z3-DM8168-MOD-24 is a compact OEM module, supporting H.264 codec at up to two channels of 1080p at 60 frames per second (fps) encode and stream, decode from stream or store in applications such as real time transcoding, broadcast video encoding and decoding, medical and industrial video, video conference terminals and high-definition embedded video sub-systems. The Z3-DM8168-MOD-24 features a unique expansion interface comprised of five high-density connectors providing access to the majority of interface signals available from the DaVinci™ DM8168 video processor from Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI). The Z3-DM8168-MOD-24 natively supports GigE, SATA2, HDMI output, RS-232, dual USB 2.0, YPbPr output and composite video with stereo analog audio output.
Z3’s video infrastructure application board, Z3-DM8168-APP-32, is included with the Z3-DM8168-VI-RPS system. This application board leverages the I/O expansion capability of the Z3-DM8168-MOD-24 to implement additional functions not present in the base module. The Z3-DM8168-APP-32 application board has an HDMI input, 3G SDI input/output, ASI input/output, YPbPr input and analog stereo audio inputs.
A Linux-based media software development kit (SDK) license, additional design services and support are available from Z3 Technology. Please contact Z3 at http://www.z3technology.com or e-mail at sales@z3technology.com.
